People Who Experienced Difficulty Shopping with Healthcare.gov Can Still Enroll in Health Insurance through GoHealth

Chicago, IL (February 17, 2015) – GoHealth, the nation’s leading private online exchange for individuals and families to shop and compare health insurance plans, announces it is still enrolling people in Obamacare health insurance if they had trouble completing their application before the national Open Enrollment deadline.

This comes after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) declared a Special Enrollment Period for people who experienced a technical issue on Healthcare.gov or extensive call wait times that prevented them from completing their enrollment on time. As a Web-Broker partner of CMS, GoHealth is authorized to enroll people who attempted to apply for health insurance before the February 15, 2015 deadline.

Under the Affordable Care Act, virtually everyone in the United States is required to enroll in major medical health insurance or pay 2 percentage of their household income or $325 per adult, whichever is greater. This Special Enrollment Period gives eligible consumers a few more days to obtain major medical health insurance and avoid the fine for going uninsured.

“If you tried to enroll but are still uninsured, it’s not too late to get coverage,” said Brandon Cruz, President of GoHealth.  “It is important to take advantage of this window to obtain Marketplace health insurance now, because this is many people’s last chance to get coverage until next year.”

The Special Enrollment Period is only available for a short period of time. To review plans and pricing, apply for a financial assistance, and enroll in a Marketplace plan, visit GoHealthInsurance.com or call 888-821-0101 today.
