Chicago, IL (March 25, 2014) – GoHealth, the nation’s leading online exchange for individuals and families to compare and shop for health insurance, announces today they have joined forces with non-profit organizations, Union Plus and Working America, to help bring affordable healthcare to working Americans. This collaboration provides resources and services tailored to meet the needs of qualifying, working class Americans. This effort is part of GoHealth’s business strategy to create customized health insurance enrollment solutions for individual organizations.
Working America represents more than 3.3 million workers in the United States, and approximately two-thirds of these workers will likely qualify for a tax subsidy that lowers the cost of health insurance. Through this new collaboration, advocacy and education efforts will be combined to provide millions of workers with the tools need to find affordable health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act.
The program will provide members with access to free licensed insurance advisors, a broader variety of health coverage options, and tax subsidies that lower the cost of health insurance – all on one enrollment platform.
Participants who also become Working America members will be eligible for a special Health Advocate program providing personalized service to help coordinate care and claims, including negotiating medical bills and recommending doctors.
“Alongside Union Plus and Working America, we are thrilled to bring affordable health insurance options to working Americans,” said Clint Jones, CEO of GoHealth. “Not only are we offering our industry-leading tools but also our licensed insurance advisors who can help workers navigate the complex enrollment process, saving them time and money in the process.”
“Shopping for health insurance can be a confusing process, and by bringing GoHealth on board to help millions of working class Americans, we know they will be able to find an affordable plan,” said Tony Cheng of Working America. “With the March 31 deadline quickly approaching for open enrollment, now is the time for our members and working Americans overall to take advantage of the services being offered.”
Working America will also be supporting this initiative through enrollment fairs in select local markets to let members of the community know this service is now available to them. In addition, members of Working America can learn more and shop for health insurance by visiting WorkingAmericaHealthCare.org or calling (855) 698-2479.
